SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AGAINST YAGI STORM
Lifestyle
According to information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, Typhoon Yagi is forecasted to affect Northern and Central Vietnam from the end of September 6th to September 8th, 2024.
It’s assessed as a very strong tropical storm that could cause heavy rain, flooding, landslides, and widespread inundation, directly affecting all coastal provinces from Quang Ninh to Thanh Hoa & indirectly impacting the northern mountainous/midland regions.
To ensure the safety of you, your family, and your business, please note the following safety tips:
During the storm:
1. Check the power/energy supply systems (gas, water, chemicals, etc.) in your home/enterprise to minimize the risk of fire and leaks. Temporarily cut off all electricity in the house/office when not in use.
2. Move important assets (cars/motorcycles/goods, etc.) to covered areas.
3. Avoid going outside to prevent danger from flying debris and stay away from areas prone to landslides. Wear a life jacket if you need to move in high flood areas.
4. Review and implement emergency response plans for your organization/business.
5. Regularly update news and instructions from authorities.
After the storm:
1. Check the safety of electrical/energy systems before reuse.
2. Clean the surrounding environment and tidy up your home.
3. Disinfect drinking water sources and clean drainage systems at your factory/enterprise.
4. Continue to avoid dangerous areas: heavily damaged structures, fallen trees, and power poles at risk of collapse.
5. Manage risks as needed: Contact your insurance company as soon as possible if there is damage to receive timely support.
Stay proactive and safe in all situations!
