TOKIO MARINE VIETNAM WELCOMES SUMMER WITH THE PROJECT "SAFETY SKILL TRAINING"

The early days of 2024 summer has arrived full of bright sunlight and beautiful flowers. Welcoming the summer, Tokio Marine Insurance Vietnam has continued the project “Safety Training for the Children” which is one of the company annual sustainability projects aimed at providing secondary school students in Hanoi capital, Ho Chi Minh City, and other provinces with basic but useful and practical skills in life such as drowning prevention skills, fire and explosion prevention skills..., helping them protect themselves and others living around from common risks in daily life.
On Monday 13rd May, 2024, the company has conducted the training themed “Drowning prevention skill” for over 500 secondary students in Phuc Loi secondary school in Long Bien district, Hanoi.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Health, on average more than 2,000 children aged under 16 die each year due to drowning over the period 2016-2023. In fact, drowning situations have continuously occurred in many provinces and cities across the country recently. On April 29, 2024, a tragic accident occurred when two students in Long Bien district and Gia Lam district in Northen Vietnam unfortunately died while swimming in the Red River.
Sharing at the training session, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Son – the principal of Phuc Loi Secondary School said: "Drowning is not only a personal issue, but also affects the family and the entire society. Drowning accidents not only cause trauma to the victim and pain to the family, but also affect the security and sustainable development of the community. The project on raising awareness on safety skill in general and drowning prevention in particular for the local children by Tokio Marine Insurance Vietnam truly brings positive social values, contributing to building a safe and healthy community."

In the warm sunlight under the cool green canopy of the school's spacious campus, with the enthusiastic sharing from the company's safety specialists, the supportive response of the teachers, and the active participation & interactions of all students, the program been successfully conducted with memorable moments, contributing to help students enhance their awareness on drowning risks and essential lessons on how to handle incidents when drowning as well as risk prevention skills.
