EXTENSION OF INSURANCE PERIOD DUE TO APPLICATION OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC FIGHTING & PREVENTION MEASURES

Dear Our Valued Customers,

Tokio Marine Insurance Vietnam Company Limited (“TMIV”) would like to express our warmest greetings to our valued customers, thank you for trusting and choosing TMIV’s insurance services during this time.

According to the new regulations issued by the Ministry of Finance in Circular 14/2022/TT-BTC as well as a desire to support customers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, TMIV would like to notify you of the rules to extend the insurance period with the following contents:

(1) Eligible applicant: all Policyholders who signed compulsory insurance policies for motor vehicle owners' civil liability with TMIV.

(2) Benefits: TMIV shall consider, negotiate with you to extend the insurance period corresponding to the time when the motor vehicle is not in traffic or is inactive due to the application of measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic as described in Section 3. (iii) below. Accordingly, when the Policyholder meets all the applicable conditions below, TMIV will issue an endorsement to extend the insurance period without additional premium.

(3) Conditions

(i) Your insurance policy is valid until the date of this Announcement;

(ii) During the period of the said policy, your residence address or your registered office’s address is under the area applied one of the following three circumstances that directly result in the idleness of the vehicle:

(a) being socially distanced according to Directive 15/CT-TTg, 16/CT-TTg; or
(b) in the areas being isolated or blocked as written by the competent authority to   contain COVID-19 pandemic; or
(c) the locality is determined to have the COVID-19 epidemic level as high risk or very high risk according to Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP during the period from 01 Jun 2021 until the Prime Minister announces that the COVID-19 epidemic is ended.

(iii) Customers must provide evidence (issued by a competent authority) proving the  above situation.
